Vision and Mission of Village Chapel PCA

“Village Chapel exists to glorify God through a life of joyfully worshiping God, actively building up one another through Christian nurture, and purposefully reaching out to our community and beyond with Christ’s Gospel through evangelism and service.”

God calls His people in each generation to honor and glorify Him in their lives as they come to Him by faith in Jesus Christ, His Son. By God’s grace we commit ourselves to His glory in accomplishing this mission by seeking to understand and live by the Word of God and by an absolute dependence on the presence and power of His Spirit working in us as we look to Him in faith. We unashamedly confess God’s Word to be true, faithful, and relevant for our day and the work of His Spirit necessary for our success.

We will strive therefore to fulfill this vision and mission by:

Joyfully Worshiping God

God calls His people to be continual worshipers of Him, as the Psalmist declared, “Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep of His hand.” (Psalm 95:6-7a)

* We will encourage public worship and prayer, and provide opportunities for God’s people to gather regularly to joyfully worship Him.

* We will encourage private worship and prayer by individuals and families and provide assistance and guidance that they may joyfully worship Him in private settings.

*We will promote a Scriptural awareness that all of life encompasses the worship of God as we ever live in His presence and we will encourage God’s people to respond to Him in such a life of worship.

Actively Nurturing One Another

We are also to honor and glorify God in our relationships with one another as His people in Christ. He is our heavenly Father, we are His children, and a family in Christ Jesus. Therefore, as God does direct and enable, we are to love and care for one another as fellow believers in His church.

* We will teach and preach the Word of God as we meet together in corporate and in smaller group settings, that God’s people may learn of Him and grow in His grace.

* We will help the people of God discover, develop, and use their God given spiritual gifts and talents in service and ministry, that our Savior’s church may be strong and effective in caring for one another and in reaching others with Christ’s Gospel.

* We will show the love of Christ by supporting one another in caring for the needs of individuals and families in times of trial and difficulty.

Purposefully Reaching Out to Others

In the Great Commission Jesus sent His disciples into the world with the command that they “make disciples of all nations ... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

* We will encourage God’s people to see their lives as a living witness of Christ before the world, and we will both teach and model how to share the good news of Christ’s gospel to those who may not know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

* We will build relationships with unchurched people in our communities with the hope that they will know Christ and the joy of being part of His church and kingdom.

* We will seek out ways to increase the community’s awareness of Village Chapel and its ministries, and we will participate in community events which promote the work of Christ’s church.

* We will support mission works faithful to Christ’s gospel in our communities, Presbytery, nation, and abroad.
